  What is Nrityotsav?

  • The New England area has been blessed with a number of artists who teach and regularly perform at concerts of Indian classical music and dance. However, it was only in 2014 that dancers of the highest caliber from India, as well as from the US, along with the dance patrons of New England came together in Nrityotsav 2014, a day-long conference of Indian Classical Dance.

  • With enthusiastic support from many Indian classical dance academies and cultural organizations of New England, as well as patrons of dance from the area, Rasarang School of Performing Arts spearheaded an effort to organize Nrityotsav 2014. This event was a huge success with two troupes of 15 top-notch dancers from India and five troupes of over 60 local dancers mesmerizing the spectators with their performances in Kathak, Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi styles.

  • With a continued mission to:

- Attract performances by the best classical dance troupes from India and the US, and

- Establish a haloed ground for learning and delight for artists and connoisseurs,
